Swiss Mocha
Drinking Swiss Mocha brings back childhood memories for me. My mom used to make up a big container of this stuff for us to sip on during our cold, Canadian winter nights.
A delicious mix between hot chocolate and coffee, this drink will warm you right down to your toes; it's an absolutely fabulous homemade gift idea to put in a jar and give away to someone special.
Mix these ingredients in a bowl:
- 1 1/4 cup white sugar - 1 cup powdered milk - 1 cup powdered non-dairy creamer - 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa - 1/4 cup instant coffee granules
Carefully spoon your drink mix into a quart-sized canning jar. If you can't fit the all of the mix into the jar, just tamp the jar on the counter and this should help to get rid of any air pockets so that you can squeeze the last bit of powder in.
Use 2 - 3 T of drink mix in a mug of hot water or milk.
Thoughtfully wrap up your gift-in-a-jar by securing a bit of fabric over the lid with a pretty ribbon. Write the name of the drink and the serving amount on a small tag along with the expiry date (see note below) and it's ready to give away.
Just a note: Check the expiry date on the powdered milk that you use for this recipe. Write the expiry date on a tag and tie it to the jar so that the recipient doesn't end up drinking an expired product!
