Homemade Toys

Homemade toys are a thing of the past. In this day and age, we go to big stores to buy expensive, plastic, battery powered playthings that barely keep our kids amused for five minutes.

My husband put it best:

Plastic toys are sold later at a garage sale, but handmade toys are a part of your family history that you hold onto forever.

Personal and Interactive

The absolute BEST thing about any handmade gift is how personalized it is. When it comes to toys, I make them to suit the child's interests and level of development. I find I can do this better than any other educational toy on the market because I know my child best!

The children's felt board is a great way to keep a kid entertained for hours with a theme that they really enjoy. Although it won't ever last long enough to become an heirloom, playdough is enjoyed by kids of all ages. Playdough is a wonderfully flexible toy that can become dinosaurs one day and a village of houses the next! Simply put, homemade toys are cheap, inexpensive and keep wee ones engaged better than the TV.

Family Heirlooms

I am personally looking forward to seeing the looks on my kids' faces this Christmas as they open the gifts I have made for them. I take pride in knowing the amount of time, effort and care that went into each gift I made. Best of all, I know that I am giving a quality gift that will be treasured by my children for years to come.

Who knows? Maybe one day, my grandkids will be enjoying these same gifts!
