Felt Food: Donuts

I actually followed another tutorial for these donuts and since I can't improve on the pattern, I'll send you over there to learn how to make your own felt donuts. You can come on back over here to make your own scrumptious cupcakes and cake!
Felt Food: Cupcakes Tutorial
1. Make your pattern pieces by first cutting apart a muffin cup. Do this by cutting down the side and then along the bottom. You will be left with two pieces - a side (shaped like a horse shoe) and a bottom (a small circle).
2. Take the pieces of the muffin cup that you cut apart and trace each piece onto your felt. Cut out your pieces. Place a second muffin cup (that has not been cut apart) up-side-down onto the felt and trace around it (this will make a large circle and form the top of your cupcake).
3. Cut out two more circles of different sizes and different colours. These pieces will be part of the decoration to top your cupcake. Sew these circles onto your largest felt circle using a straight stitch.
4. Decorate the top of your cupcake with beads and a pom pom.
5. Next, take your side piece...
...and fold it so that the edges over lap. Use a straight stitch to sew the edges together.
6. Sew the top of your cupcake (the decorated piece) and the side of your cupcake together using a whip stitch.
7. Finally, sew your smaller circle to the bottom edge of your cupcake using a whip stitch. Sew about 3/4 of the way around before stuffing the cupcake and stitching up the hole. 8. Now, make a few more!
Felt Food: Pieces of Cake
1. Cut out your felt pieces to these dimensions:
- one rectangle 3" wide x 3 1/2" high (back of cake) - two rectangles 3 1/2" high x 4" long (these are your side pieces) - two triangles 3" wide x 4" high (top and bottom pieces)

2. Decorate one of the triangle pieces (this will be your top) and the rectangle piece that is the back of your cake. Use ribbons, beads and other felt shapes. Have as much fun with this as you want!
3. Using a blanket stitch, sew the two pieces that you just decorated together - you will be sewing together the two edges that measure 3" long.
4. Using a blanket stitch, sew on the sides of your cake. Sew the bottom piece on last, leaving a 2" hole and lightly stuffing the cake. Sew the hole shut.
Good enough to eat!
Once you get started on making felt food, it's hard to stop. Just google 'felt food' and you'll find yourself bombarded with tons of great homemade gift ideas!
