An absolutely lovely baby gift to make and give to a little one in your life is a soft baby book made from felt. This book is perfect for slipping in the diaper bag to entertain a baby during a day trip or a long wait in a line up. Moms and tots a like will treasure the friendly farm animals and the embroidered details that you put on each page. 
The eight-page pattern book includes the pieces for five farm animals: a sheep, cow, pig, horse and a duck as well as a 'Stitchery Garden' that illustrates how to make a straight stitch, a lazy daisy stitch and a french knot. The Stitchery Garden also includes step-by-step instructions on how to make all of the embroidered details included in my sample book.
It was really exciting to come up with this pattern and I know that I will be using the pattern pieces again. I plan on using appliqueing the sheep onto a plain skirt of my daughter's.
