Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies:

Here's my favourite recipe out of all of the homemade gifts in a jar: tasty chocolate chocolate chip cookies!

These decadent morsels have just the right amount of sweetness and chewiness. In my house, it's very difficult not to go through a whole batch of these in one day.

Chocolate cookies need to be watched carefully in the oven. They can over bake and become rock-hard very quickly. I only bake mine for around 9 minutes.

Bring on the chocolate!

In the following order, layer these ingredients in your jar

- 2 cups flour
- 2/3 cup cocoa
- 1 1/2 cups white sugar
- 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions for baking:

- 1 cup butter
- 2 eggs
- 2 teaspoons of vanilla
- 2 cups chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350F. Cream the butter, egg and vanilla together in a bowl. Add the contents of your jar, along with the chocolate chips, to your bowl. Mix well. Spoon dough onto a cookie sheet and bake for 8 - 10 minutes.

Makes about 3 1/2 dozen.
